TV Stand Project

We were determined to use our TV until it died but an alternate option provided itself...

Buddy Bee's Uncle Jordan picked up a great TV on black Friday for himself and of course like the frugal people we are we were all over his old TV.  The only problem was our TV cabinet; it would not fit the new TV.  Again, like the frugal people we are we were not about to go out and buy a new TV stand.  So, I devised this crazy plan to cut our current cabinet in half...

Here is our old TV and cabinet. 

 Here is the cabinet minus the TV and display shelf.

My plan was to cut off the top and set the top piece on the bottom door cabinet.

We had no idea if this would work but what could we lose...

 Andrew and I moved the cabinet outside and Andrew did some last minute measurements.

 Here we go...

 First side cut off !

The saw marks will not show since the top piece will sit on it.

 You have to love Andrew's choice of apparel for the day...

Both side off and it did not fall apart!

 We slid the top piece down on top of the cabinet and I must say I think it looks fabulous.

I am so excited about how our TV stand project turned out!
