Adventures in Philly: Buddy Bee's First Trip To The Zoo

On June 24th our little family of 3 started out on an adventure for the Buddy Bee.  It was important for us that our little boy experience his first zoo with us as a whole family.  So, before daddy left on his "little adventure" across the world from us we headed to the zoo!

Our family of 3 ready for our adventure in Philly!

Look who is looking forward from the back seat!

As a special treat, and the only way we were going to survive the 3 hour trip, Buddy Bee's car seat was switched to forward facing and I think he approves.

Buddy Bee enjoying the view from up front.

He looks like such a big boy sitting forward facing.

Buddy Bee loved watching the trucks go by from his new vantage point and before we knew it we were arriving at the Philadelphia Zoo.

My handsome little boy rocking his aviators.

"I'm ready to see those animals you keep talking about, Mom!"

I don't know how I stop myself from giving this cutie little Mommy kisses all over his adorable face all the time.

Daddy and Buddy Bee exploring the zoo.

Stopping to watch the ostrich with Daddy.

Buddy Bee loved all the reptiles and I gladly left that job to Daddy.

Checking out the snakes with Daddy.

Someone joined us for lunch.

Buddy Bee absolutely loved the peacocks. We could have come just to see the peacocks and the Bee would have been ecstatic.

We pried the Bee from the peacocks and headed to see some big kitties.

Buddy Bee was not that impressed.

Taking a little break by riding in the stroller.

Red Panda taking a little nap.

Mommy and the Bee watching the hippo's.

We enjoyed visiting the giraffes since they were up and moving unlike many of the animals who were napping because of the heat.

The giraffe family.

This little guy is celebrating his second birthday this summer just like our little Bee.

Zebras

Buddy Bee spends way too much time with the Newfies because he was not impressed with the large animals.

Quick stop to say "hi" to the penguins.

Flamingos are interesting creatures.

By this point of the day Buddy Bee was tired, hot, and just plain miserable so, we made one last stop before we headed to our hotel.  Buddy Bee loves Curious George and it just did not seem right to leave without stopping in at the monkey habitat.

Watching the "Go's" climb up high.

Buddy Bee perked up when he saw these little guys.

I think our little Buddy Bee would have climbed right up there with them if we would have let him.

This little lady and Buddy Bee had a moment and connection.  She was looking right at him and he loved it.  I am so thankful for my husband who waded his way through a sea of kids so, my little boy could share a moment with a gorilla.

Just a peek at the tortoise because we had a Buddy Bee who needed a nap.

An exhausted Park family ready to leave the zoo.

Buddy Bee took a way too short nap in the car and after we headed to Mommy's request, Ikea! And after some birthday shopping we headed to our hotel for dinner and an early night.

As we put this wide eyed little boy to bed we were very thankful for the day and will always cherish the memories made on Buddy Bee's first trip to the zoo.   I want to remember this day 7 months from now when the deepest and darkest part of this deployment has hit....I want to remember this day.
