September 19th will be a date our family will never forget.
6 years ago, on this day, Andrew lost his best friend and fellow guardsmen in Iraq.
It is on this day we remember Billy.
I will always remember the day Andrew got the call. We were attending Lock Haven University and I had just finished a class in the Science Building. Andrew met me in the lobby and I could tell by the look on his face that the news he would share would change our lives forever. We just sat in the car in disbelief.
Billy was gone.
As we visited our friends grave 6 years later our grief has not diminished. We miss him just as much as 6 years ago. Our hearts are saddened that our little Buddy Bee will never know his Uncle Billy. Buddy Bee would have loved Billy. We can only carry on Billy's legacy by sharing all the memories we have and telling Buddy Bee of the hero who we love.
Today Billy, we drink our Mountain Dew to you.
And Billy, next year Buddy Bee will drink as well.
Andrew is looking forward to the day he can introduce his son to his Uncle Billy.
We wait for that day but until then we honor you, Billy.
