Hurricane Irene

It would rain for days as Hurricane Irene made her way up the East Coast.
Andrew was called up to State Active Duty to assist with the destruction while Buddy Bee and I were left home without power for 57 hours.

Satellite pictures of Irene by NASA.

August 28th we woke up without power.

Buddy Bee with his trusted friend "Scrappy".

It was a good day for the Buddy Bee to stay in his PJ's.

Snuggling on the couch.

Buddy Bee showing off his belly.

Our small, babbling creek turned into a raging river.

Before nap time the Buddy Bee and I headed up to the cabin in hopes that there was power up there.
We were sadly disappointed. We decided to stay however and work on Buddy Bee's room.

Buddy Bee sanding his wall.

Showing Mommy he did it!

Now trying to eat the sandpaper.

Such a big helper! Notice he is still wearing "Scrappy"!

A refreshed Buddy Bee after his nap.

Time to play in his box.

Collecting all of his blankets to bring back to his box.

Mommy and Buddy Bee watching the rain come down.

Buddy Bee spent a lot of time looking out the window watching the rain come down.

Mommy even opened up the window so he could yell at the cows.

Day 1 without power went fairly well but by the 3rd day we had about enough!
Thankfully Andrew was able to come back home on the 29th (day 2)
and the power returned on the 30th (day 3).
We have never been more thankful for running water and electrictity.
