Bugs, Sticks, and Climbing Trees!

Since it rained most of September, Buddy Bee and I took advantage of the 1 sunny day and spent some time outside.   Buddy Bee spent his time doing what boys do best.....playing with bugs, sticks, and climbing trees!

Buddy Bee was not too happy he had to stop playing to take a picture with Mommy.

But then we found this little guy.

A little caterpillar for the Buddy Bee to watch.

Buddy Bee watching  the caterpillar move through the grass.

Mommy had to remind the Bee that we only watch, not touch, our little caterpillar friend.

It is a good thing Buddy Bee never touched his little caterpillar.  We would later learn that this type of caterpillar can cause a very itchy rash when touched.

We let our caterpillar friend continue on its way and Buddy Bee soon found a stick to play with.

Buddy Bee so happy to be outside.

Buddy Bee traveling around the yard, checking out everything.

Buddy Bee soon made his way over to his "climbing" tree to utilize his new found climbing skills.

My cute little Bee!

Buddy Bee had a marvelous time exploring outside but little boys must take their afternoon nap.  Back inside we went and left Buddy Bee's outside playground to be discovered another day.

Remembering Billy

September 19th will be a date our family will never forget.
6 years ago, on this day, Andrew lost his best friend and fellow guardsmen in Iraq.
It is on this day we remember Billy.

I will always remember the day Andrew got the call.  We were attending Lock Haven University and I had just finished a class in the Science Building.  Andrew met me in the lobby and I could tell by the look on his face that the news he would share would change our lives forever.  We just sat in the car in disbelief.
Billy was gone.

As we visited our friends grave 6 years later our grief has not diminished.  We miss him just as much as 6 years ago.  Our hearts are saddened that our little Buddy Bee will never know his Uncle Billy.  Buddy Bee would have loved Billy.  We can only carry on Billy's legacy by sharing all the memories we have and telling Buddy Bee of the hero who we love.

Today Billy, we drink our Mountain Dew to you.

And Billy, next year Buddy Bee will drink as well.

Andrew is looking forward to the day he can introduce his son to his Uncle Billy.
We wait for that day but until then we honor you, Billy.

14 Month Celebration

How does a Buddy Bee celebrate turning 14 months old?
We will just have to let the Buddy Bee show you.

Buddy Bee  playing in the kitchen cabinets....

....and then getting himself stuck.

Buddy Bee in his tunnel of empty boxes.

Andrew and I took the Buddy Bee out for an after dinner celebration to the Lenox Dairy Bar!
Buddy Bee LOVES his ice cream.

Daddy and the Buddy Bee all ready to order our ice cream.
Very jealous that Buddy Bee got to wear his pj's.

Mommy and the Bee.
Buddy Bee was ready for bed.

Before Buddy Bee headed into bed we had to stop and say good night to our friendly little toad.

Buddy Bee was not that interested in our toad friend.
Being the little boy that he is, I am sure that will change, and he will soon be bringing Mommy some toad friends.

We also enjoyed showing the Buddy Bee the red colored moon.

The Buddy Bee had a good nights rest and was all ready to go the following day.
It was a beautiful day so we headed outside to play.

It did not take long for the Buddy Bee to find the piles of cut grass.

And what little boy could resist throwing the grass up in the air?

He loved having grass in his hair and started to pile it on himself.

Our little Buddy Bee does not stay still for long and was soon off to discover more things.

There he goes, running up the hill!

Buddy Bee does not like the feel of grass on his knees and has learned that he can go much faster if he uses his hands and feet!

Perhaps the Buddy Bee is just copying our friendly neighborhood bear we saw at the bottom of our hill the other night.
