Tropical Storm Lee

Once again it would rain for days.
Tropical Storm Lee would hit Northeast PA and cause severe flooding  to our towns.
Andrew was once again called up for State Active Duty to assist in areas around the Wilkes-Barre area as Buddy Bee and I weatherd the storm at our new home.

Buddy Bee and Mommy riding out the storm.

Taking advantage of the storm by unpacking boxes.
Buddy Bee would fill them as Mommy would unpack them.

Buddy Bee all ready for a trip down to our other house.

River is very high but our house was safe.

After checking on the house we were off to feed puppies.
Buddy Bee enjoyed his time with the pups.
He received many kisses from the pups and may have given a few licks himself.

Back at the cabin Buddy Bee trying to fit under the baby gate.
FYI he can't fit.

Our cheesy little Bee.

Our Bee has learned how to climb!

Our mountain climber.

A ray of sunshine after the rain.

Our perfect view from the couch.

Buddy Bee claiming his spot on the fireplace ledge.

My little helper emptied the laundry basket and helped himself to it.

If I could only teach him to fold the laundry...

We were very thankful for a dry house on the hill and even more thankful for the service Andrew did for those affected by the flooding.

The day the rain stopped.

August 29th was a beautiful day and it was so nice to see the sun.
It was hard to believe we had just been hit by a hurricane.
Our little family was very fortunate.
We only lost power for a few days and did not have any major flooding.

Our cabin did suffer some damage from the storm.  We had water in the basement, one of the skylights leaked causing some sheetrock damage, but the thing that faired the worst was the driveway.
Our driveway just could not handle all the water causing some major washing.

Thankfully my dad was willing to work on the drive since Andrew would not be home until late that night.

Buddy Bee LOVES the tractor and yelled at grampy the whole time!

Buddy Bee's room also got the first coat of paint....getting closer to being ready to move!

Buddy Bee exploring his new home.  He was on the move after something.

Off again.

Helping Mommy move the rock wall.

 Buddy Bee found the dirt!

How fitting that his shirt says, "I Love Dirt".

Buddy Bee with dirt all over his face and teeth!

Our family is so thankful for the protection provided to our homes and family during the storm.
Nothing could damper our exceitment for this week though.
We finally close on our cabin tomorrow!

First Night At The Cabin!

September 1st was moving day for our little family of 3.  We felt so blessed to have so many friends and family come out to help us. Though we really just bribed them with food and Elijah!  We had a crew of  17 people who came to help!

This was it.  We would move the house and stay our first night in our new home! What an amazing feeling to be finally moving.  In the 8 years Andrew and I have have been married we have only moved once so it was  kinda weird to see our house and all our belongings being loaded up into a caravan of vehicles.  But it really does amaze me how much stuff you can collect in 8 years.

My tearful moment was when 14 vehicles started up our quarter mile drive with our first load.  What an amazing sight seeing all those cars and even more amazing feeling that we were finally coming "home".

What a crazy night.  Our moving party started at 5 and by 10 people were starting to head back to their homes.  After putting Buddy Bee to bed,  Andrew and I sat on our couch surrounded by piles of boxes, just amazed that this was our first night in our new home.

Buddy Bee did amazing with the transition.  The most confusing part for the little Bee was the placement of his bedroom door.  In Buddy Bee's old room his bedroom door was located to the right of his crib.  His new door is located to the left of his crib causing a little boy to still stand to the right of  his crib when he woke up in the middle of the night.  It was a sweet sight to see the Bee standing at the side of his crib crying to the wall. By the next morning Buddy Bee figured out where he needed to look for us and was ready to explore his new home!

Good Morning!

A happy little bee in his new home!

Hurricane Irene

It would rain for days as Hurricane Irene made her way up the East Coast.
Andrew was called up to State Active Duty to assist with the destruction while Buddy Bee and I were left home without power for 57 hours.

Satellite pictures of Irene by NASA.

August 28th we woke up without power.

Buddy Bee with his trusted friend "Scrappy".

It was a good day for the Buddy Bee to stay in his PJ's.

Snuggling on the couch.

Buddy Bee showing off his belly.

Our small, babbling creek turned into a raging river.

Before nap time the Buddy Bee and I headed up to the cabin in hopes that there was power up there.
We were sadly disappointed. We decided to stay however and work on Buddy Bee's room.

Buddy Bee sanding his wall.

Showing Mommy he did it!

Now trying to eat the sandpaper.

Such a big helper! Notice he is still wearing "Scrappy"!

A refreshed Buddy Bee after his nap.

Time to play in his box.

Collecting all of his blankets to bring back to his box.

Mommy and Buddy Bee watching the rain come down.

Buddy Bee spent a lot of time looking out the window watching the rain come down.

Mommy even opened up the window so he could yell at the cows.

Day 1 without power went fairly well but by the 3rd day we had about enough!
Thankfully Andrew was able to come back home on the 29th (day 2)
and the power returned on the 30th (day 3).
We have never been more thankful for running water and electrictity.
